Sidey Become Green Deal Installer
Sidey Ltd have recently been awarded the ‘Green Deal Installer’ Accreditation from BSI. The Green Deal Quality Mark is the new industry standard for accredited installers and is trademarked by the secretary of state for Energy and Climate change. In basic terms, the Government is establishing a framework to enable consumers to make energy efficiency improvements to their homes, including energy efficient windows and doors at no upfront cost by making payments through their energy bills. The expected financial savings made through the energy efficiency improvements must be equal to or greater than the costs attached to the energy bill.
Having already achieved BS 8213-4:2007 for the survey and installation of windows and doors, Sidey undertook further stringent auditing in order to achieve the ‘Green Deal’ Accreditation. The company were assessed and met the requirements of the of the Green Deal Code of Practice and PAS 2030:2012 for the survey and installation of energy efficient windows and external doors, which incorporates the competent person scheme under the PAS 2030 accreditation.
Steve Hardy, Sidey’s Joint Managing Director - Commercial Sales commented: “Sidey has a vast experience working with registered Social Landlords, Councils and Housing Associations and one of the key factors which prompted us to qualify for Green Deal installer status was the demand that we believe will come from this sector to improve their housing stock’s energy efficiency through Green Deal Finance and the Energy Company Obligation (ECO). All installations of measures under the Green Deal and ECO will have to be undertaken by accredited installers if these authorities are to be eligible for the schemes finance mechanism, meaning through our Green Deal Installer status we can become part of the Green Deal supply chain and assist this sector in gaining not only much needed finance but also achieve higher energy efficiency standards, thus reducing carbon, the impact on the environment and creating savings for the occupiers through lower energy bills.
“I believe this latest accreditation also demonstrates Sidey’s commitment to energy saving measures and reassures our customers that our work is of the highest quality and is carried out to the highest safety standards.”
Within the industry Sidey is renowned for its extensive range of accreditations, high quality products and services, environmental credentials, innovative products and solutions and investments in staff and customers alike. Supplying and fitting their products to the Commercial, Newbuild, Trade and Retail sectors Sidey are incessantly looking for ways to raise the bar when it comes to performance standards for their customers.
